Motorists travelling from Johannesburg to Durban have been warned to expect delays as the N3 is blockaded by trucks at Van Reenen’s Pass.

At least 16 people have been confirmed dead in the horrific multiple vehicle collision on the N3 in Pietermaritzburg.

Two trucks, a bakkie, two minibus taxis and five other cars were involved in a collision on N3 Southbound in Pietermaritzburg this morning.

The protest by the truck industry has seen the N3 between Johannesburg and Durban being blocked by trucks in both directions.

The Road Freight Association has called for the swift arrest of instigators of the truck blockade on the N3 between Durban and Johannesburg.
