South African motorists have to accept a new petrol and diesel price increase in November – thanks to a rallying oil price and weaker rand.
From midnight on Wednesday, 1 September, the price of a litre of 95 unleaded petrol will be R18.34 inland and R17.62 at the coast.
Complaints have forced the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy to amend the ban on sale of petrol and diesel in containers.
