There’s little to zero doubt that Rhulani Mokwena is staying at Mamelodi Sundowns; who would leave a squad like that?

“He wants to stay at Sundowns and those talks are happening,” Kapeluschnik told iDiski Times’ veteran reporter Robin-Duke Madlala.

“I can’t say more than that. He wants to stay there, we are talking to them.

“He wants to remain, he’s happy and we are talking to them. He’s happy at Sundowns, he wants to stay,” Kapeluschnik concluded.

CHAIRMAN TARGETS ANOTHER AFRICAN TITLE

As seen with the star on Sundowns’ club emblem, the Tshwane giants won the CAF Champions League in 2016. Is 2023 the moment for a second African title?

After an invisible march to the semi-finals, Sundowns are expected to go all the way to become the new African champions, and chairman Tlhopane Motsepe agrees.

“We believe in the team, we believe in the vision of our president [Patrice Motsepe], and it’s what has been put forward from the moment he stepped into his role,” said Motsepe via SABC Sports.

“As club president, he wanted to win the Champions League and in 2016, Hlompho Kekana and the likes managed to do that, and it was a wonderful moment for our club.

A GREAT SEASON

“And so, this season we’re just incredibly proud of where the boys have taken us so far – you can see the ambition, but also just the focus and desire to better than they’ve done before.

“So, it’s something that we’re quietly hopeful for,” the Sundowns big boss concluded.

Meanwhile, Kabo Yellow are on their way to Morocco to face Wydad Casablanca in a semi-final first leg on Saturday at 21:00. The return leg is set for next Saturday in Tshwane at 15:00.
