Midfielder Thabo Cele could soon be on his way to South Africa – and Kaizer Chiefs – after his proposed move to Polish side Radomiak Radom fell through.

Midfielder Thabo Cele could soon be on his way to South Africa – and Kaizer Chiefs – after his proposed move to Polish side Radomiak Radom fell through.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 24-year-old Cele was due to move from Cova da Piedade in the Portuguese second division to Radomiak Radom, but due to his agent’s “exorbitantly large commission” demands, the deal will not take place.

Cele was a standout performer for the South African under-23 side at the recent Tokyo Olympics, despite the side failing to register a victory.

His performances ignited interest from a number of teams in Mzansi, most notably Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs.

Cele, born in KwaMashu north of Durban, left South Africa in 2016 and joined Portuguese third division side Real S.C.

He also loaned to Benfica FC before joining Cova da Piedade in 2018.

He has never previously played in the PSL.
