Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates get major transfer boost!

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Oswin Appollis.

Appollis’ stock would’ve risen, having recently featured for Bafana Bafana at Afcon, with Chiefs and Pirates watching.

Chiefs are believed to have been long-term admirers of Appollis, having followed the player before Afcon. There was even a report that Amakhosi had made a bid to Polokwane City FC for the attacker’s services. This offer was thought to have been lodged during Afcon, which took place during the January transfer window. Needless to say, it was rejected as “Rise and Shine” viewed it as unsatisfactory. They also believe they can get more for the player at the end of the season. Cue Pirates.

Pirates started getting into the Appollis conversation closet to January, with the Buccaneers closely monitoring his situation. Now, according to the latest reports, both Soweto giants have been given a boost in their reported pursuit of the player. 

Chiefs and Pirates get transfer Appollis boost

“Pirates and Chiefs are interested in Appollis. And the good thing for them, or any other interested club, is that Polokwane City is open to selling. The club won’t stand in the player’s way and for them, it will be a matter of cashing in. This applies to any player that they were taking a chance on when signing. Appollis is a talented youngster with a lot of potential, but at the time of his signing, he needed a fresh start. He needed that in the big league, and Polokwane City was willing to offer him that opportunity. He has done well, and the club won’t stand in his way if there is an opportunity for him to grow further,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.

With Both Chiefs and Pirates looking to revamp their respective attacks, it remains to be seen who signs Appollis.
