Orlando Pirates star defender Olisa Ndah has had offers from different countries abroad, but he couldn’t move due to injuries.

And that’s according to Ndah’s agent Mike Makaab when speaking to Soccer Laduma about the defender’s future at Pirates.

Ndah arrived at Pirates in August 2021 alongside Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah who has since left the club under unfortunate circumstances.

The dreadlocked centre-back really proved that he’s quality when he arrived, but injuries hampered his progress at Pirates.

Ndah was one of the international stars for Pirates as he was regularly called up to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in his first two seasons.

However, he every time has to start over because of consistently getting injured, and Makaab reveals that those series of injuries cost Ndah big time.

Makaab said Ndah had attracted interest from Serie A in Italy, the Major League Soccer (MLS) and again in Belgium.

The prominent agent is still positive though that Ndah will eventually overcome his injury woes and realise his dream of playing abroad.

Furthermore, Makaab confirmed that the Nigeria international will still be contracted to Pirates beyond the current campaign as he’s still has two years with them.

WHY ORLANDO PIRATES STAR NDAH FAILED TO MOVE ABROAD

“He is unfortunate,” said Makaab.

“Every time Olisa seems to find his best footing, he ends up with these niggling injuries. Thank God they’re not serious, but they are disruptive. They disrupt your rhythm as a footballer.

“Let me tell you, when Olisa has been playing consistently and doing well, we’ve had real interest from outside our borders,” he revealed.

“This isn’t just talk. There was interest from the Italian Serie A. There was interest from the MLS. There was interest from Belgium.

“Sadly, he hasn’t had a consistent run of games when he was able to show what he did when he first came to South Africa.”

“But, like all footballers, you go through these unfortunate periods. God willing, everything will settle soon and we will see the best of Olisa. He still has another two years left on his contract (after this one),” concluded Makaab.
