Orlando Pirates strikers do their goal differential no harm

Orlando Pirates boosted their goal differential with their latest DStv Premiership victory over the weekend.

The Buccaneers found the back of the net on four occasions – without conceding – against Royal AM in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

The Soweto giants’ strikers have been in a rich vein of from of late, with the side scoring 12 goals in their most recent three league matches.

That has boosted the Buccaneers’ goal tally this season to 39 – the same number as log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

With their goals conceded tally standing at 23, Orlando Pirates have a goal differential of +16.

That is tied with Stellenbosch FC who sit one place above the Buccaneers in the standings as both sides vie for the second and final CAF Champions League spot next season.

Both sides have five matches remaining this season.

Orlando Pirates will next be in action on Wednesday, 1 May when they travel to Cape Town to take on Cape Town City FC.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
