Should Chiefs abort the Nabi mission and shift focus on Pitso?

Kaizer Chiefs are spoiled for choice in their search for a new coach to possibly replace Arthur Zwane with the news that Pitso Mosimane is available.

As reported on The South African website, Mosimane parted ways with Al Ahli Saudi on Tuesday, ending his season-long deal with the Saudi Arabian outfit.

This despite publicly saying that Al Ahli had an option to extend his contract for a further year if he promotes them back to Saudi Pro League.

However, the fact that Al Ahli were seemingly dragging their feet in triggering that option coupled with unpaid salaries for five months could have led to his resignation.

Now, for weeks leading up to these latest developments,  a section of Chiefs fans campaigned for the club to acquire the services of Mosimane.

But then the news of Chiefs interest in Nasreddine Nabi surfaced, and the attention shifted to the Yanga SC coach as it appeared unlikely that Mosimane would be keen to return to the PSL.

Chiefs and Nabi have been talks with reports suggesting that the Tunisian mentor is eager to join them provided he brings along his own technical team.

NOW THE BIG QUESTION…

SHOULD KAIZER CHIEFS ABORT THE NABI MISSION AND PURSUE PITSO?

Well, that might not be the smartest of moves, especially with Mosimane seemingly eager to prove himself outside of the African continent.

Mosimane might be in the market for now, but it is believed that there’s a huge interest in him in the Gulf region and also in African with several national teams eyeing him.

What Chiefs should do is to leave their options open by continuing to engage Nabi while also wooing Mosimane but again, that might backfire as both coaches are in high demand.

Aborting the Nabi mission wouldn’t be ideal, especially if there hasn’t been any talks with Mosimane, who said so himself over a week ago.

These are two high-profile coaches with more or less similar demands – Nabi wants his own technical team, and so is Mosimane who already has his own technical team.
