In their current squad, Chiefs have players who have been promoted from as far back as the 2018/19 season. No matter who the coach has been, there have been academy products being given an opportunity in the first team. The likes of Happy Mashiane, Siyabonga Ngezana, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Sabelo Radebe as well as the departed Njabulo Blom, were primarily promoted under Ernst Middendorp before getting an extended run through Gavin Hunt, during the season of the FIFA ban.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs have already decided on their latest development product who will be promoted to the first team, that being Puso Dithejane.

Dithejane next for Chiefs

“He is a talented young man (Dithejane). And at 19, the team feels he is well ready for the senior team. But what they will do so that he continues to enjoy game time is that he will be eligible to play for both the Diski team and the senior team. They say if he doesn’t feature for the senior team then the Diski team can give him a chance. But training and all the other team activities will be with the senior team. He will be promoted, though he will also play with the junior side. He will join the team for pre-season as well,” said a source to the same publication.
