Planned 7-hour water outage to affect parts of Tshwane on Sunday

Parts of Tshwane will be without water on Sunday due to planned maintenance by Rand Water. Here are the affected areas.

Some areas in the City of Tshwane may experience supply interruptions as Rand Water will be doing maintenance work at the Zuikerbosch Treament Plant.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21 January.

WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS IN TSHWANE

In a statement, the municipality said the maintenance work may lead to water interruptions ofr Region 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 due to maintenance work by Eskom on the transformer serving the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant.

The City of Tshwane has since urged residents to use water sparingly.

PLANNED 13-HOUR POWER OUTAGE

Meanwhile, the City of Tshwane has announced that Eskom will be doing maintenance work in Bronkhorstpruit which will result in a 13-hour power outage.

The maintenance on the distribution network in Bronkhorstpruit is scheduled for Saturday, 13 January from 07:00 – 20:00.

In a statement, the municipality said in the interest of safety, power supply will be shut down during the maintenance period.

The outage will affect the following areas:

  • Bronkhorstpruit
  • Ekangala
  • Kromdraai
  • Kwaggafontein

Residents have been advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.
