It’s a superfood that you can have every day and dress it up any way you’d like. Our Healthy Ostrich Burgers & Dip is a great addition to your healthy meals or snacks during the middle of the day.

You’ll be making your own burger patties with ostrich mince. This ensures that you know exactly what goes into them and what goes into them is fantastic. Fennel adds some new levels of flavours to your patties like never before. Chilli flakes add spice without being hot and just lifts the flavour to new heights. Each serving is a great 468 calories, making it a great meal with a tangy yoghurt dip. You can still dress your Healthy Ostrich Burgers & Dip up as you want with burger buns or a light salad depending on your goals. If you make full burgers, use the dip as your spread, it’s delicious!

Healthy Ostrich Burgers & Dip Recipe

Ingredients

  • 90 g 90 Ostrich mince

  • 3 tbsp 3 Red onion, chopped finely

  • 1 tsp 1 Fresh parsley, chopped finely

  • 1 tsp 1 Fresh ginger, minced

  • ¼ tsp ¼ Chili flakes

  • ¼ tsp ¼ Black pepper

  • 1 tsp 1 Extra virgin olive oil

  • ½ cup ½ Corn

  • 230 g 230 Fennel

  • ½ clove ½ Garlic

  • ¼ cup ¼ Plain low-fat yoghurt

Method

  • Combine the fennel and 1 teaspoon olive oil in a roasting pan and bake in a 180°C oven for 30 minutes until soft. Leave to cool. 
  • Combine the ostrich mince, corn, onion, parsley, ginger, pepper and chilli. Mold into 1 patty.
  • Place a pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and the patty. Pan-fry the patty for a few minutes on each side until browned.
  • Combine the roasted fennel, garlic and yoghurt and blend until smooth. Serve your patty with the fennel dip on the side.
