Minister of Sports and the honorary coach of Bafana Bafana Zizi Kodwa has offered the South African squad advice ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) game on Tuesday.

The minister – known for his viral video saying, “I’ve just arrived” – shared his comments on his X account.

SA will take on Morocco in the Afcon round of 16 at the San Pedro Stadium in Ivory Coast at 22:00 SA time. Should they win, they will advance to the competition’s quarter-finals and face  Cape Verde this weekend.

ZIZI KODWA SHARES ADVICE FOR AFCON WIN

Following a video message of support from President Cyril Ramaphosa to Bafana Bafana, Zizi Kodwa was asked for his advice.

The outspoken minister tweeted: “Discipline, teamwork, avoid long and high balls, play short  passes, make those brilliant crosses from the wings to Zwane and Mokoena.”

Needless to say, many tweeps were amused by the minister’s new “strategy.” Others demanded he focus on other important issues, like suspending loadshedding during the televised game

THAT PEP TALK VIDEO

Meanwhile, South Africans are hoping Bafana Bafana will heed Zizi Kodwa’s advice ahead of their game.

After all, his dressing pep talk to the squad earlier this month after their loss against Mali helped motivate the team to make an impressive 4-0 victory against opponents Namibia shortly after that.

Promising them a “nice, cold Castle Lite,” Zizi captioned the clip: “Get up and try again. Let us learn the lessons from this loss and come back stronger.”
