South Africa’s sexiest policeman, Devan Cox, is in trouble for posing in his police uniform on social media.

DEVAN COX BECAME AN OVERNIGHT INTERNET SENSATION

A sizzling selfie that the handsome East London constable took in the bathroom after a session at the gym has spread like wildfire on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Cox has been going viral in South Africa for being a “hot cop“. He is young, athletic and has a look that many, many locals find appealing.

So appealing, that some of the commenters on his now-viral posts have even shared they would be willing to commit a crime, just to be near the officer.

However, all the attention did not please his seniors in the police force.

They nicknamed him South Africa’s sexiest policeman

Authorities charged Cox with violating the instructions prohibiting police officers from publishing photos of themselves in uniform, or carrying police weapons or logos, on their social media platforms.

Cox, a member of the SA Police Service (SAPS) Flying Squad, received a summons to attend a disciplinary hearing for violating national SAPS instructions by representing the police on his social media platforms.

They brought Cox before a disciplinary hearing

Cox was brought before a disciplinary hearing.

Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu stated that they had concluded the hearing.

However, she did not want to disclose the outcome because “it is a matter between employer and employee”.

NO OFFICER MAY REPRESENT THE POLICE ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

According to Naidu, no officer may represent the police on social media platforms.

“No member may display a profile photo of themselves in uniform, any police weapons, logos or an avatar on their private social media,” said Naidu.

The public believes that Cox is also no longer allowed to speak to the media.

COX IS ALSO NOT ‘ALLOWED’ TO SPEAK TO MEDIA ANY MORE

Earlier, he informed the media that his parents, Billy and Jane, retired police officers themselves, and he struggled for years to gain admission to the police force.

After uploading the sexy gym photo on social media, he became famous overnight. On social media, commentators asked bluntly if he should please arrest them.

When the radio station Algoa FM in Gqerberha invited him to their studio, thousands of people specially tuned in to hear his voice.

HE IS NOT A MODEL AND DOES POLICE WORK TO SAVE LIVES

However, he made it clear that he is not a model and does police work because he wants to save people’s lives.

He stated to the Port Elizabeth radio station, “I’m not married, but I have two boys. So a single dad”.

He not only serves his community and upholds the law but also embraces adventure and maintains a passion for fitness.

COX IS ALSO THE FATHER OF TWO BOYS

From tracking him down on TikTok, it’s evident that Cox has a passion for swimming and takes immense pride in his SAPS-issued vehicle, which he uses to chase down the bad guys.
