Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Mpumalanga

These natural rock formations are the result of centuries of swirling whirlpools where the Blyde and Treur Rivers meet. The potholes have created cylindrical rock sculptures and deep holes in the bedrock and are a must-see.

Blyde River Canyon, of course!

One of the largest canyons in the world and a major highlight of the route, of course Blyde River Canyon should make your list of things to see along the Panorama route. The canyon offers breathtaking views of dramatic rock formations, lush vegetation and the stunning “Three Rondavels,” which are towering rock formations resembling traditional African huts.

Echo Caves

While not directly on the Panorama Route, these ancient caves are nearby and offer guided tours. The caves are known for their impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Pinnacle Rock, Panorama Route

This towering quartzite column is one of the most iconic landmarks along the Panorama route. It rises dramatically from the dense forest below and offers stunning views of the surrounding Mpumalanga landscape.
