Former Orlando Pirates star Marshall Munetsi scored against Ligue 1 leaders PSG over the weekend. PSG hoped to extend their log lead as they squared off with ninth-place Stade de Reims.

Stade de Reims’ talisman netted the opener in the four-goal encounter. He tapped the opener in the seventh minute. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, but the former Pirates star was praised for his performance.

CAREER

The Zimbabwean talisman was born on 22 June 1996. However, many find it puzzling that he once had trials with the Orlando Pirates before his move to the Soweto Giants.

He started his senior career with Ubuntu Cape Town in 2015. Marshall Munetsi’s command of the game saw him joining Baroka FC in 2016. From Baroka FC, he joined Orlando Pirates.

However, he made 28 appearances for the club during his two-year stay. In 2019, he joined Stade de Reims on a four-year contract he recently extended. According to Capology, media reports have it that his new deal saw him becoming one of the Stade de Reims’ highest-paid stars.
