WHO IS THE CURRENT KAIZER CHIEFS TOP GOALSCORER?
Eish, Amakhosi supporters are facing another season to forget. The club has lost out on the MTN8, Carling Knockout and already the Nedbank Cup. A big factor has been the absence of a reliable goalscorer at Chiefs.
The Glamour Boys have scored just 19 goals in 20 DStv Premiership games. Four goals were scored in the MTN8 before the team was out in the semi-finals.
Zero goals were scored in the Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup, as Chiefs were sent packing in the first round. AmaZulu did the damage with a 1-0 win in the CKO last 16, before Milford FC won on penalties in the Ke Yona last 32 round.
Chiefs’ top goalscorer has, therefore, delivered the most goals in the league. Out of the 19 goals scored, Christian Saile, Edson Castillo and Ashley du Preez, have each scored three goals.
Pule Mmodi has contributed with four goals, making him Chiefs’ top goalscorer. The 31-year-old winger from Theunissen, Free State, arrived in July. Mmodi joined from Golden Arrows, where he scored six times in 31 matches last season.
What about last season?
The Chiefs top goalscorer from last season was Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, with seven goals. He was followed by Ashely du Preez with six and Keagan Dolly with five.
