Forgotten ex-Orlando Pirates striker Jimmy Kauleza is seriously unimpressed by coach Jose Riveiro’s inconsistent starting line-ups.

An unimpressed ex-striker, Kauleza says Pirates are struggling because the Spaniard, Riveiro keeps changing his line-ups and that leads to inconsistent performances.

Speaking to Phakaaathi, ex-Pirates striker Kauleza heaped praise on Riveiro for bringing stability to Pirates over the past two seasons – but he is also unimpressed with on and off line-ups.

The ex-Pirates striker’s comments come as the DStv Premiership schedule is on a recess owing to the ongoing Afcon tournament that is held in Cote d’Ivoire – he analyses Riveiro’s progress and line-ups.

“I think Pirates have been playing good football, especially when it comes to attack and they can give Sundowns a tough time. But there is just one major issue, which is selection of players,” an unimpressed Kauleza told Phakaaathi about Riveiro’s line-ups at Pirates.

Despite boasting two trophies, Pirates mentor Riveiro is desperate to halt Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance as far as the DStv Premiership is concerned – but the ex-striker feels he must stick to consistent line-ups.

Looking at the log table, coach Rulani Mokwena’s men are currently heading towards a seventh successive league title as they are the reigning league champions.

The Buccaneers are aiming for league honours once again this campaign but Pirates occupy the number five spot on the log with 25 points after 16 matches.
