Kaizer Chiefs target admits big surprise

Kaizer Chiefs are said to be on a mission to sign Stanley Nwabili.

In the meantime, the Chippa United star is still engaged with bigger business: Afcon 2023.

It was last season when Nwabili left Katsina United in Nigeria to play for Chippa in Mzansi.

Following a string of brilliant performances in the DStv Premiership, the 27-year-old enjoyed a massive reward.

Nwabili is currently the number-one goalkeeper for the mighty Super Eagles at Afcon 2023.

“A year ago, I didn’t think I would be here,” Nwabili said via SABC Sport.

“Even now, I still don’t believe that I am here. It is a great feeling, and I always feel happy since I’ve been here, and like I said, a year ago, I didn’t think I would be here playing for my country,” concluded the Lagos-born star.

Coming up next for Nwabili is a final 16 event. Nigeria will take on West African rivals Cameroon on Saturday at 22:00.

Football is not an easy career. Chiefs’ former attacker Khama Billiat was at SuperSport United but is facing an uncertain future again.

Chiefs’ ex-attacking midfielder Billiat seems to be struggling. The Zimbabwean has reportedly left SuperSport United.

The former Cape Town Spurs star left Chiefs in July 2023. He was seemingly set to join Cape Town City, but no offer was made.

Billiat later emerged in Tshwane last week. The 33-year-old started to train with SuperSport United.
