Shortly after the break Peter Shalulile kept up his hot streak, doubling Sundowns advantage as Themba Zwane came up with the assist.

Gamphani Jones Lungu netted his third goal of the campaign for SuperSport United to get them back into the contest in the 69th minute.

Lungu’s strike broke Mamelodi Sundowns incredible run of 1423 minutes without conceding a goal in the DStv Premiership. SuperSport United had also been the last team to score against their Tshwane rivals in the Premiership back in March of this year.

The Zambian latched onto a loose ball after a mistake by Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams produced a brilliant save to deny Shalulile a second goal in the 77th minute.

On 80 minutes the contest was all square as national team star Teboho Mokoena’s bouncing shot got the better of Deni Onyango, who was not enjoying his best day in the colours of the Brazilians.

The match would end in a draw but Sundowns remain unbeaten and on top of the DStv Premiership.
