Royal AM appear to have given up on challenging Mamelodi Sundowns for the DStv Premiership title this season.

Royal AM appear to have given up on challenging Mamelodi Sundowns for the DStv Premiership title this season.

John Maduka’s men had a dream start to their debut season in the PSL, and at times, they found themselves in second and third positions on the log.

However, that steam died down as Royal AM could only afford to finish the first half of the season in eighth position on the league’s standings.

Now, according to former Kaizer Chiefs left-back and current Royal AM assistant coach Ditheko Mototo, finishing second at the of the campaign is the club’s target.

Mototo told Isolezwe that the gap Sundowns have over other teams is huge, and he doesn’t see any team catching the Tshwane giants.

ROYAL AM TO SETTLE FOR SECOND PLACE ON PSL LOG

“We will be satisfied if we can finish the season in second position – that’s the target we’ve set for ourself,” said Mototo.

“There is no chance of catching Sundowns, and there is no team that will disturb them now. They are gone. We have a good and strong squad that can take us to second position,” added Mototo.
