Pitso Mosimane has work to do to steer Abha Club clear of the relegation zone. As rumours of a move to Kaizer Chiefs continue to gather pace, he wasn’t so vocal on his payout from Al-Ahli Saudi.

Pitso Mosimane quizzed about massive payout amid relegation struggles

After Abha Club took a 5-1 hiding by Al-Ahli Saudi, Pitso’s old club, inevitable questions arose about his exit from the club and the big payout he eventually received.

“Al-Ahli is the one who introduced people here. And I do not want to talk about financial matters, and I am proud of my work with them,” Mosimane said.

“I am happy with what Al-Ahli has achieved after the difficult last season. I am happy to see its fans happy.

Pitso is proud of his time with Al-Ahli Saudi

“I’m happy when I see them singing players like [Roberto] Firmino, [Riyad] Mahrez. I am proud of the little bit of my contribution because I know when I was here, I know where it was,” he said as per Goal.

“They are a big team and they gave me a chance to come to Saudi Arabia, and I paid them back for giving me the chance.

“I would not be in Abha if Al-Ahli did not bring me. I have nothing against Al-Ahli. Good luck to them. I want to see them winning,” said Mosimane.

Pitso Mosimane Kaizer Chiefs rumours won’t help his relegation worries

Abha Club are in deep trouble with just two games left in the Saudi Pro League season. They’re two points adrift of safety after a 5-1 hammering at the hands of his old club, Al-Ahli Saudi. Goalscorers included Algeria and Man City legend Riyad Mahrez and Ivorian midfield dynamo Franck Kessie.

Jingles’ mandate was to keep Abha in the top flight. If they get relegated, that’ll undoubtedly be a huge stain on his otherwise stellar managerial career. Abha faces Al-Khaleej next and then critically bottom club Al-Hazm on the final day. Al-Tai currently occupy the final safety spot in 15th with 31 points. Al-Tai, of course, is Knowledge Musona’s old club. They face the champions Al-Hilal next and then have a crunch clash with fellow strugglers Al-Akhdoud on the final day. Pitso will hope that Al-Tai falls apart in the remainder of the season to hand his side the initiative to claim safety and top-flight status for next year. It’s bound to be a nail-biting few games in Saudi Arabia!
