It’s make-or-break time for Pitso Mosimane in Saudi Arabia and the Kaizer Chiefs fans continue to have their wild fantasies.

PITSO MOSIMANE IS FIGHTING FOR HIS REPUTATION

Abha club are in deep trouble with just two games left in the Saudi Pro League season. They’re two points adrift of safety after a 5-1 hammering at the hands of his old club Al Ahli Saudi. Goal-scorers included Algeria and Man City legend Riyad Mahrez and Ivorian midfield dynamo Franck Kessie.

Jingles’ mandate was to keep Abha in the top flight. If they get relegated, that’ll undoubtedly be a huge stain on his otherwise stellar managerial career. Abha faces Al-Khaleej next and then critically bottom club Al-Hazm on the final day. Al-Tai currently occupy the final safety spot in 15th with 31 points. Al-Tai, of course, is Knowledge Musona’s old club. They face the champions Al-Hilal next and then have a crunch clash with fellow strugglers Al-Akhdoud on the final day. Pitso will hope that Al-Tai falls apart in the remainder of the season to hand his side the initiative to claim safety and top-flight status for next year. It’s going to the wire in Saudi Arabia this season.

Chiefs must secure an MTN8 place on the final day

Kaizer Chiefs will have to beat relegated Cape Town Spurs on the final day of the campaign and hope the teams around them in the table don’t manage big wins. The table is so congested that Chiefs, AmaZulu and Polokwane all have 36 points while Golden Arrows have 35 and Chippa have 34. All of these sides are fighting for one place and it could easily boil down to goal difference. AmaZulu and Arrows meet in the only direct battle here. Amakhosi sent a video tribute goodbye to outgoing skipper Itumeleng Khune. Not even a victory guarantees an MTN8 slot for Chiefs as AmaZulu and Polokwane can both match their points tally with a win of their own. Chiefs’ goal difference is +1 better than AmaZulu’s and +4 superior to Polokwane’s, so a comfortable win at Spurs SHOULD seal 8th place. However, any other result puts them in danger.
