Orlando Pirates star Zakhele Lepasa has revealed that it’s actually thanks to legendary chairman Dr Irvin Khoza that he’s back at the club.

Lepasa was linked with another exit from the club, following his loan spell at SuperSport United last season.

Lepasa however opted to stay in Mayfair, and he has since revealed WHY!

Lepasa is in red-hot form for Pirates. The Bafana Bafana striker scored a hatrick and a brace for the Buccaneers in his previous two matches.

Lepasa delivers surprise Orlando Pirates chairman news

“First of all I want to thank God for the opportunity, I want to thank the chairman for believing in me because he’s the one who said ‘You must come back, we need you, you need to to work harder.” Lepasa told SuperSport TV regarding Dr. Irvin Khoza.

“Because he knows what I’m capable of from playing in the development, how I used to score goals, he’s the one who brought all this confidence in me and the guys the way they welcomed me back like I never went, so I’m very happy.”

Orlando Pirates fans were taken back down memory lane after current first team star Patrick Maswanganyi did the iconic Jomo Sono trademark ball stand!

The Buccaneers were at their best on Saturday evening when they demolished Sekhukhune United 5-0 in the MTN8 opening round.

In other news, Recently axed Orlando Pirates midfielder Collins Makgaka is edging closer to securing a new club!

The highly talented midfielder maestro is reportedly drawing interest from two top flight teams.

According to the latest reports, Makgaka is currently on trial at AmaZulu however Polokwane City are also interested in signing the 27-year-old.

Makgaka made his debut for Baroka back in 2015 and has already racked up 85 top flight appearances.

It’s unfortunate that things didn’t go well for him at Pirates, but he is talented.” an insider told Citizen.

The former Orlando Pirates man was previously training with Stellenbosch however reports suggest the Cape outfit opted against signing him.
