Nkosingiphile Ngcobo on ‘frustration’ of sitting on the bench

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has spoken about the “frustration” of not being a regular starter for the Glamour Boys.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has spoken about the “frustration” of not being a regular starter for the Glamour Boys.

‘Mshini’ has made nine appearances in the DStv Premiership and three in the MTN8, but coming from the bench in most of them.

With the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday, he is one of the players who were voted by the fans to start their semi-final against Orlando Pirates.

He admitted that sitting on the bench discourages him at times.

NGCOBO ON SITTING ON THE BENCH

“I do get frustrated sometimes because it is not easy to sit on the bench, but what we have this season is good competition,” Ngcobo said as quoted by TimesLIVE.

“We are pushing one another and every time I get a chance I have to make sure I take it with both hands.

“I have done gym work and sometimes it is field work [that’s needed] to make sure I am fit and ready to play any time I’m called on. It was one of my goals coming into this season to drop some weight. I have worked hard to do that and will continue to work hard.”

The 22-year-old midfielder started the last match for Amakhosi when they downed the Buccaneers 1-0 in their league game at the FNB Stadium.

He was one of the standout performers and will have another chance to prove himself when they face the same opponents on Saturday.

In the other semi-final, Mamelodi Sundowns will be up against AmaZulu.
