Ahead of several upcoming public holidays, residents are reminded that the City’s customer offices will be closed on these occasions. In light of this, citizens are encouraged to utilise the various convenient online payment options available.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi, elaborated on the municipal offices closure.

“Municipal offices will be closed on the public holidays during the next few weeks. Residents are reminded of the simple and convenient e-Services options and we encourage residents to check the City’s website or to call ahead before visiting the nearest office if in doubt,” he said.

City authorities encourage online payments using QR code for municipal accounts

Customers are urged to settle their municipal accounts using the convenient QR code embedded in their invoices.

This QR code includes their EasyPay number and outstanding balance, providing easy access to the online payment portal for a seamless and secure transaction process.

Expressing gratitude to account holders for their payments and support, Councillor Mbandezi, reiterated the city’s commitment to enhancing service offerings to residents.

“The City is committed to improving and enhancing service offerings to residents, and we again encourage customers to make use of our new online [payment] options,” said Councillor Mbandezi.

City services closure schedule aligned with upcoming public holidays

The closure of the City’s Revenue Department offices, including payment, account enquiries, motor vehicle registration and licensing, as well as Traffic Services’ driver’s licence testing centres, Human Settlements’ offices, and municipal courts, will coincide with the following public holidays over the next few weeks:

  • Workers’ Day on Wednesday, 1 May
  • The 2024 South African General Election on Wednesday, 29 May

The Revenue Department’s offices located at Liberty Promenade Mall, Table Bay Mall, Sunningdale, and Lansdowne Corner Mall will be closed on these dates.

As the city endeavours to streamline services and embrace online payments, residents are encouraged to make use of online platforms for any necessary transactions during these holiday periods.
