Last week, this publication also reported that Chiefs also considered making an approach for experienced coach Cavin Johnson. Nothing seemed to come from that, however, but now there seems to be another coach with experience in North Africa that has come on to Amakhosi’s radar. That being Congolese mentor Florent Ibenge! , who has been earmarked to guide Zwane rather take over his position as head coach, if reports are to be believed, from Soccer-Laduma.

Ibenge to help Zwane at Chiefs?

Florent Ibenge quit his post as coach of DR Congo as well as. AS Vita Sport whom he coach simultaneously and took up the job of head coach of crack Moroccan side RS Berkane, a club he led to CAF Confederation Cup success during 2021/22 season, beating Orlando Pirates in the final. He then resigned and is currently head coach of Sudanese side Al-Hilal, who lost and drew to Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League group stages. According to Siya Source, his name has also cropped up among the candidates earmarked for the co-coaching or technical advisor job at Chiefs” wrote the publication.
