Kaizer Chiefs step up efforts to beat Orlando Pirates to two targets! 

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be quietly stepping up their intensity in the race to beat arch rivals Orlando Pirates to two key transfer targets!

Chiefs and Pirates are both no strangers to keeping against each other for some of the finest talents in the country, with this window no different.

There have been several players already linked to both Soweto giants ahead of and during this transfer window, with Chiefs and Pirates believed to be in heavy competition for two players. The duo in question is Oswin Appollis of Polokwane City as well as Riaan Hanamub of AmaZulu. It is thought that Amakhosi were the first to show interest in Appollis, with the Buccaneers joining them in the race for the Bafana Bafana star recently.

Now went it comes to the chase for Hanamub, it seems to be the opposite as Pirates had long since been credited with the initial interest in the Namibian international, with Chiefs only recently putting themselves in the hat for the left back’s signature. Now according to the latest information coming from Soccer-Laduma, it is the side from Naturena that is edging ahead to sign both players. 

Chiefs looking to beat Pirates to Appollis and Hanamub deals

“There has not been much activity in the transfer market since the window opened at the beginning of the year, but Siya sources have indicated that behind the scenes, Kaizer Chiefs have been very busy. Indications are that the club are in a race to beat arch rivals Orlando Pirates to the services of rising star Oshwin Appollis as well as to the signature of Namibian international Riaan Hanamub.” Wrote the publication.

It is, however, unclear if Chiefs are trying to beat Pirates to Appollis and Hanamub by signing them this month, or if they are laying down the foundation early in order to beat their rivals to their respective signatures ahead of the next season.
