An Amakhosi star received a late red card which has caused the star to be suspended.

George Matlou will miss Chiefs’ next two matches as a result of suspension, according to Amakhosi’s official twitter page

High controversy reigned as Matlou received a red card despite being an unused substitute.

It’s not every day that a player on the sideline receives a red card.

Unfortunately, this was the case as Victor Gomez showed the lanky midfielder red. To make matters even more confusing, the red was shown after the final whistle.

Now, Zwane and Chiefs will have to find another replacement for the Amakhosi midfielder.

Thankfully, he is not a regular starter. As previously mentioned, Matlou did not even come off the bench against AmaZulu in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final. Therefore, he will not be missed that much when AmaZulu and Chiefs clash in Durban.
