Kaizer Chiefs regular’s odd contract situation at Naturena revealed!

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to make contact with one of their first team regulars despite his contract coming to an end in June 2023!

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to make a decision over the future of full-back Sifiso Hlanti.

The 32-year-old former Bafana Bafana defender’s contract comes to a close at the end of June, but Chiefs do have an option to extend.

Hlanti has played 24 matches for Arthur Zwane this season, scoring two important goals in the process.

He’s been the club’s first choice left-back this season, but surprisingly reports claim the club are yet to contact him over their decision on his immediate future!

Hlanti has made over 250 appearances in the top flight however his age may factor against him as he’s undoubtedly not as ‘sharp’ as his younger self anymore.

Kaizer Chiefs defender stuck in limbo at Naturena?

“We’re not having discussions with Chiefs, we’re waiting for them to decide [whether they exercise the option to extend],” his agent Sizwe Ntshangase told FARPost.

“We’re not waiting for June, Kaizer Chiefs will contact us anytime.”

In other news, Phathutshedzo Nange was once again nowhere to be seen in Kaizer Chiefs’ matchday squad this weekend.

The midfielder returned from compassionate leave due to a family bereavement two weeks ago however he’s unable to make Arthur Zwane’s 18-man match squad.

Things haven’t gone according to plan for Phathutshedzo Nange at Kaizer Chiefs this season.

The former Bidvest Wits star has made just ONE start under Arthur Zwane, playing a total of 142 minutes of football!

Amakhosi midfielder to cut his losses and move on?

There is a silver lining to Nange’s troubles though as he’s been linked with a move away from Naturena.

A move that will undoubtedly see him play under a coach that values him more than Arthur Zwane.

At least TWO top flight sides are interested in signing Nange next season according to the latest transfer reports.

According to FarPost, both SuperSport United and Stellenbosch FC are keen on his services.

“His work rate is held in high regard by the two coaches. It’s understandable because of what he did for both of them.”

“Gavin wants him at SuperSport United, while Steve Barker is also interested in him. It’ll all come down to who gives him the better offer.”
