In today’s rumours, Kaizer Chiefs are set to make a surprise move for ex-Orlando Pirates midfielder Ntsaki Makhubela.

Amakhosi are keen on a former Orlando Pirates journeyman

According to the Citizen, Salim Magoola and former Orlando Pirates star Ntsaki Makhubela are on the Chiefs wish list.

“Talks over the signings of Salim and Ntsako started some time ago, but they had to be halted because of Richards Bay’s precarious position on the log. But they will resume after the conclusion of the season. What I can tell you though is that both players are keen to join Chiefs,” a source told Phakaaathi.

Magoola, who is a reported Chiefsa target, ironically bagged the Man of the Match award with a string of saves to deny Chiefs and preserve his clean sheet at the weekend. Meanwhile, 30-year-old playmaker Makhubala could bring vast experience to the Amakhosi engine room after spells with Swallows, Orlando Pirates and now Babina Noko. He was also training with AmaZulu earlier this year.

Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates fumbling the Mokwana bag?

24-year-old Sekhukhune winger Elias Mokwana recently made his Bafana Bafana debut in friendlies against Andorra and Algeria. He’s got admirers around the country, but now there are a few abroad too. A goal against Andorra and an assist for Iqraam Rayners’ strike against 2019 African champions Algeria is proof he feels at home at the top international level.

According to football agent Pontsho Maduma via KickOff, the 24-year-old has some new admirers.

“Look, we are looking overseas. There have been a couple of calls from overseas, but locally we haven’t heard from anyone. Nothing concrete really,” Madumo told the publication.

Cavon Johnson’s team, fresh off yet another demoralising defeat, this time to Richard Bay, must dust themselves down and prepare for the challenge of a clash with SuperSport next weekend. A place in the top 8, even the top 10, now looks in serious jeopardy.
