Kaizer Chiefs are set to effect yet another player clear-out at the end of the 2018/19 season, and three members of the first team have been named among those headed for the exit, KickOff reports.

The club has made releasing a host of players at the end of the season somewhat of a tradition and, according to an unnamed source who spoke to the publication, three players who featured prominently for the club during former coach Steve Komphela’s reign are among those on their way out.

The list is headed by Venezuelan striker, Gustavo Paez, who last made an appearance in January when Amakhosi played second division outfit Tornado in the first round of the Nedbank Cup.

Also on the list is attacking midfielder Bhongolwethu Jayiya, who was last spotted in the same game in East London, as well as winger Joseph Malongoane, currently nursing a long-term injury.

“The club will finalise the list of all the players leaving at the end of the season. Jayiya and Molangoane are some of the players expected to leave the club at the end of the season,” the source told KickOff.

All three players’ contracts expire at the end of June, and are set to be shown the door when that time comes along with a few others.

This is nothing new at Naturena, as it has been the case in recent seasons where a handful of players are released to make way for new signings.

Meanwhile the Glamour Boys are preparing for their next league encounter, which sees them travel to Thohoyandou for a clash against Black Leopards on Saturday.

Following that, they travel to Port Elizabeth to meet surprise package Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semifinal on 20 April.
