Premier League: Poch pleased with Spurs big win
Harry Kane was absent by Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs made short work of Huddersfield Town on Saturday in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino was delighted Tottenham’s 4-0 demolition of Huddersfield in the Premier League’s early game on Saturday.
Pochettino believes goal difference could be the key in their battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four and was thrilled to see Lucas Moura’s hat-trick filled the void left by Harry Kane.
“It is going to be a very tough race. To score several goals is important. The goal difference can be decisive to achieve the top four at the end,” Pochettino said.
“We have a very tough period. If we approach this period with confidence then we can achieve all the targets we have.”
Spurs have been hit hard by injuries this season, in January they had to deal with the absence of Kane and Delle Alli and now as the season draws to a close the stars have been sidelined again.
Kane is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering another ankle ligament injury during Spurs 1-0 Champions League quarterfinal win over Manchester City. Alli sustained a fractured hand in midweek that left him unable to face Huddersfield as well.
Pochettino was hopeful that Alli would return soon but said he was unlikely to feature in the second leg of the Champions League last eight.
“We will see. Today it is difficult to say. He needs to be comfortable to play,” he said.
“Of course it is a little bit painful because he broke two parts of his hand.”
Moura was cheered off as he celebrated his man of the match performance with an adorable kickabout with his 1-year-old son on the pitch after the final whistle.
“I saw him with his son. It’s amazing, very emotional, so nice for him. So happy for him and his family,” Pochettino said.
“Players need to play to show their quality. The hat-trick is going to build his confidence.”
The win lifts Spurs into third on the Premier League table and into a position of strength in the battle for Champions League spots.
