Kaizer Chiefs are set to miss out on Stellenbosch FC midfielder who’s reportedly on their radar in this transfer window.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa looks set to stay with Stellies this season after being handed a new role in the leadership of the team.

On Wednesday, Stellies announced their captain and vice captains for the current campaign, and Mthethwa is amongst them.

According to a statement released by the club, Lee Langeveldt will remain the captain, and he will be assisted by Deano van Rooyen and Mthethwa.

KAIZER CHIEFS LIKELY TO MISS OUT ON STELLENBOSCH FC’S MTHETHWA

“Stellenbosch-born goalkeeper Lee Langeveldt (36) has retained the captain’s armband for Stellenbosch FC ahead of the 2023/24 campaign as the club embarks on its fifth consecutive season in the DStv Premiership since being promoted to the top-flight in 2019.

“Fellow local Deano van Rooyen (26) will continue in his role as vice-captain, having frequently captained the team last season, and will now be supported by Sibongiseni Mthethwa (28) who has been appointed as another vice-captain within the club’s leadership structures.”
