Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly close to signing high-profile Colombian striker Efmamj Jasond González on loan from Real Santa Cruz.

The deal is expected to be for the current campaign, and it could be concluded in the next few days, according to reports.
González missed Sunday’s league match between Real Santa Cruz and Royal Pari, perhaps to pack his bags and leave for South Africa.

Now, having recently signed Ranga Chivaviro, Chiefs look promising on paper upfront with Ashley du Preez and Christian Saile.
But does the imminent arrival of Gonzalez spell an end to Bonflis-Caleb Bimenyimana’s time at Chiefs?

While he may still be a Chiefs player, Caleb has undoubtedly fallen out of favour at the club, and this could be the end of the road for him.

The Burundi international had a promising start to his time with Chiefs last season, but he lost form along the way due to injuries and other factors.
When Arthur Zwane started benching him, Caleb had already scored eight goals – seven in the league and one in the Nedbank Cup.

And with Chiefs keen on entertaining offers for him so much so that Caleb was close to moving to North Africa, Gonzalez’s arrival could well speed up that process.
After all, it wouldn’t have made sense for Chiefs to let Caleb go without finding a proper replacement for him, especially with Chivaviro still going to take time to adapt to the team’s style and pressure.

It is, therefore, safe to say Caleb should start preparing for life after Chiefs as his future at Naturena certainly looks bleak at this point.
