Kaizer Chiefs are looking to add more firepower to their attack after failing to score in their opening game of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi have been goal-shy even in pre-season and a lack of a quality forward has saw the team fail to make progress from last season.

Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki said there were areas of concern that his team needed to improve on going forward following their 0-0 draw with Chippa at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Sunday.

According to reports, Chiefs are looking to bring in Colombian forward Efmamjjasond González. The 24-year-old striker is currently playing for Real Santa Cruz in Bolivia.

In 2023 alone, the young forward has scored eight goals in 16 games for Santa Cruz which is a good return and should Amakhosi bring him to Naturena, he might cause problems for many teams given his height.

González’s market value is around R10 million.

Ntseki said his team needed to score from every opportunity they create and be more clinical in the final third.

“If I was to say I am happy with our last-third entries, I am not,” Molefi Ntseki said as quoted by FarPost.

“The last-third entries are very important if you want to win games. If you can’t win games from combinations and penetration, you have to make use of the set-plays.

Kaizer Chiefs have already brought in Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Edson Castillo, Ranga Chivaviro, Mduduzi Msantsane, and Tebogo Pontsane this season.
