ICYMI – Kaizer Chiefs: PSL rivals make offer for Itumeleng Khune!

Itumeleng Khune now has the option to leave Kaizer Chiefs and to join their PSL rivals who have just made an offer for the Amakhosi legend.

Khune was recently suspended by Amakhosi after he reportedly showed up to training drunk. However, he has served his suspension. Now, he is set to return to training just before the PSL commences next month.

Meanwhile, PSL rivals, Sekhukhune United, are interested in signing the Amakhosi legend.So, it will be interesting to see which club he is playing for when the DStv Premiership returns.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED KEEN TO SIGN KHUNE FROM CHIEFS

Sekhukhune United are keen to sign Khune.

“With the current situation at the club even he himself is not sure is not sure whether his contract will be renewed or not at the end of the season. So he is a person before being a player and he has to look after his future and that is why he will consider the offer from Sekhukhune United,” the report read on SoccerLaduma.

Khune faces uncertainty at Amakhosi with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Furthermore, he has fallen down the goalkeeper ranks with Brandon Peterson and more recently, Bruce Bvuma preferred in goal for the Soweto giants.

Therefore, he has a better chance of playing more regularly at Sekhukhune as he enters the latter stages of his career.

They are also willing to take him on in as a technical staff member when he retires.

BIG DECISIONS FOR AMAKHOSI MANAGEMENT IF HE LEAVES

Khune may seriously consider this offer because he faces an uncertain future at Chiefs. Meanwhile, Sekhukhune are guaranteeing him playing time. They are also offering him a secure future amongst their coaching staff when he retires.

Cavin Johnson and Amakhosi management must decide whether or not to renew Khune’s contract – and fast. The Amakhosi legends contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Moreover, if he does leave they must decide on a new coach and if they still want to offer him a role as goalkeeper coach.
