Former South African U/20 star Junior Khanye has slammed Kaizer Chiefs winger Christian Saile following the teams’1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch.

A goal from Devin Titus saw Amakhosi suffer their eighth defeat of the season at the FNB on Tuesday evening.

Having conceded just before half-time, Chiefs had 45 minutes to get something out of the game but fired blanks.

Khanye, who played for Chiefs in the early 2000s, criticised the likes of Sfiso Hlanti and Saile for their poor performance.

“Kaizer Chiefs brought in Saile(second-half), who kept making wrong decisions. Every time he gets the ball, he cuts inside and shoots.”

“I will tell you the truth, he is a ‘skelm’. Every time he cuts in, he shoots,” Khanye on Saile’s poor match for Chiefs.

The former Amakhosi winger gave praise to Stellenbosch’s front three.

“Hlanti today, I think he was exposed, on the left-hand side. This boy Titus, I mean, when Hlanti overlapped, he got the ball and almost punished Kaizer Chiefs. Since then, he(Hlanti) never overlapped but later, one vs one, he couldn’t deal with Titus. I think Titus today, I’ll give him man of the match, he has done well in terms of working hard, every time he had the ball, it looked like something was about to happen.

Khanye says Saile made wrong decisions for Chiefs

“In the second half, the front three got tired, Rayners did a lot in the first half,” Khanye added.

Khanye said Stellies lost the plot in the second half as they started defending their lead. He told iDiski TV that the Cape side might get punished if they play a quality side.

On issues facing Kaizer Chiefs, Khanye said the likes of Saile were not players to take the team forward.

“If they bring in a new coach, he must also buy his own players. That coach must also bring in his own technical team as well. They have to start from the bottom and restructure.
