THE KING’S CANCER DIAGNOSIS WAS ANNOUNCED IN FEBRUARY

Buckingham Palace announced King Charles’ cancer diagnosis via a statement on 5 February.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” read the statement.

Following the announcement of King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, his daughter-in-law, Princess Kate announced that she also had cancer. She also revealed that she was undergoing treatment, via an emotional video shared on Twitter on 22 March.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she said in the emotional video.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she continued.
