Excited De Sa praises Komphela’s bravery to join Swallows

Legend Roger De Sa is excited and praises Steve Komphela’s bravery after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns and join Moroka Swallows.

Former Moroka Swallows goalkeeper Roger De Sa also shared his opinion regarding Steve Komphela’s move to Swallows, he commended Komphela for bravery.

De Sa has praised the celebrated South African legend, Komphela’s bravery after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns and looking to revive the Dobsonville-based Swallows.

The former Bafana Bafana and Sundowns keeper, De Sa argues that the DStv Premiership will continue to develop when top coaches such as the brave Komphela are not involved in one project.

DE SA PRAISES SWALLOWSKOMPHELA FOR BRAVERY

Formerly in charge of the Iran national team where he joined former Bafana mentor Carlos Queiroz at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, De Sa is inspired by Komphela’s bravery as he is not afraid to leave his comfort zone.

“What Steve has done shows that he is a brave man because he was in an environment where there was no pressure. I am very close to him and I take him as a brother,” De Sa told Isolezwe as he praised Komphela.

“The way things are unfolding at Sundowns, any coach would hesitate to leave but Steve as a brave and ambitious person, decided to leave because he is not afraid of challenges – he chose to start his own project.

“I am excited with all the developments at Swallows and this happens when Steve just arrived. You can see he is starting to attract big names.

“This makes me excited as I am one of the people who are connected with Swallows – this brings back hope.”

The former MTN8 winner with Ajax Cape Town added that Komphela took the right decision to leave Masandawana where he worked with Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi.

He argues that having the country’s finest coaches like Komphela at one club is not contributing to the growth and competitiveness of the league.

“In my opinion, there is no need to have all the best coaches in the country working or involved at one club,” he added.

“This is my opinion but I believe that better coaches in the country must work at different clubs. That will strengthen the league and also open doors for a local coach to take the Bafana Bafana job.”
