European giants interested in signing Orlando Pirates youngster!

Orlando Pirates could be set to lose one of their most promising young strikers to Europe at the end of the season.

Pirates could revamp their striking department next season and Mohau Nkota was thought to be part of those plans.

Nkota has been impressing for Pirates in the DStv Diski Challenge, which sparked rumours that he would get promoted. That has not proven to be the case for the talented youngster, who has remained with the reserves so far. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, the player might be taken away from the club even before he wears first team colours. This is because Belgian giants Standard Liege are thought to be interested in him.

Liege show interest in Pirates youngster Nkota

“It’s not a surprise that this particular club (Liege) had made this offer. You know there have been other teams monitoring and inquiring about him (Nkota) but nothing went further. This time around this Belgian team’s interest is serious, They have proposed that if all goes well then they can have the player even before the end of the season. Yes, he has been doing very well (at Pirates) and he has a very great future ahead of himself. This is just the start of more good things to come,” said one source to the publication.

A second source says Liege being interested in Nkota was expected, since his already training with the Pirates first team.

“He has been on top of his game. Himself, Jabulani Mokone, Azola Matrose and Relebohile Mofokeng have really shown that they are mature now and can play at any level. Since he has been with the main team there has been growing interest in him and now this Belgian side wants him. They don’t want him to go for trials at all. They apparently want him straight up on a permanent move,” said the source.

It remains to be seen if Pirates will give Nkota their blessing, should Liege make an official offer.
