After Beating Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu are set to beat Orlando Pirates to transfer target!

AmaZulu could be about to do a double over both Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates before the season has even begun.

This in the form of transfers, with AmaZulu beating Chiefs to Rowan Human, and now having Pirates target Mokete Mogaila in their sights!

After protracted negotiations between Chiefs and Human, with both a fee and personal terms agreed, the stalling of finalising those details on paper allowed AmaZulu to steal a march on their league rivals in signing the the player. It is also believed that Pirates themselves had an interest in the Bafana Bafana playmaker, and were trying to do a double deal for him and new signing Karim Kimvuidi.

Human was not the only Bafana Bafana international that Pirates have been monitoring, with the club thought to have made an attempt to sign Royal AM’s Mogaila. This publication previously reported that the Buccaneers were trying to convince the speedy winger to join their side before he went into camp with the national team for the COSAFA Cup. But following his impressive showing at the tournament, he has now also attracted the interests of Royal AM’s neighbours, AmaZulu. 

AmaZulu to beat Pirates to Mogaila?

“AmaZulu are interested in Shaune Mogaila from Royal AM. He is one of the players that the club would like to have for the new season and you can expect negotiations to take place between the two clubs. Mogaila is a highly rated player who was with Bafana Bafana during the recent COSAFA Cup in Durban and did well. He is the same player who has been linked with Pirates for some time,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.

With Pirates now having signed the likes of Katlego Otladisa, Patrick Maswanganyi and Lesedi Kapinga, it remains to be seen if Mogaila will still be of interest to the club, or if AmaZulu will have free rein to his signature.
