Orlando Pirates ‘slayer’ to lead Bafana Bafana in COSAFA Cup
The South African Football Association has announced the appointment of an Orlando Pirates slayer as Bafana Bafana coach for the COSAFA Cup.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced the appointment of Orlando Pirates slayer as Bafana Bafana coach for the 2023 COSAFA Cup.

Morena Ramoreboli returns to the position he held a few years ago where he guided Bafana Bafana to the COSAFA Cup triumph without conceding a goal.
Ramoreboli comes in highly rated having recently guided Jwaneng Galaxy to the 2023 Botswana Premier League title – his first in the country.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, SAFA said Ramoreboli will be assisted by Marumo Gallants assistant coach Raymond Mdaka.
ORLANDO PIRATES SLAYER RETURNS TO LEAD BAFANA BAFANA IN COSAFA CUP
The South African Football Association (SAFA) has appointed Morena Ramoreboli as head coach of the Bafana Bafana team to play in the upcoming COSAFA Cup.
He will be assisted by Raymond Mdaka who helped Marumo Gallants reach the last 4 of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Ramoreboli recently led Jwaneng Galaxy FC lift the 2023 Botswana Premier League title.
The COSAFA Cup tournament will run from 5-16 July in Durban and the two coaches will name their squad on Friday, 23 June.
The Bafana Bafana COSAFA Cup squad will go into camp on 27 June 2023 in Durban.
SAFA Technical Director Walter Steenbok said the two coaches had the pedigree to make the country proud.

BROOS AND MKHALELE EXCUSED FROM COSAFA CUP
Ramoreboli’s appointment means both Hugo Broos and Helman Mkhalele have been excused from leading Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Cup.

Broos’ contract stipulates that he be excused from minor tournaments such as the COSAFA Cup and CHAN with his focus on high-profile matches.
It is unclear, at this stage, why Mkhalele was excused as he led Bafana Bafana as head coach during the 2022 COSAFA Cup tournament.
