Springboks star Eben Etzebeth will need some time to grow out his latest buzz-cut after raucous Rugby World Cup celebrations.

WOW: Kaizer Chiefs need Rassie Erasmus!

Etzebeth explains terrible buzzcut

Eben Etzebeth arrived at the World Rugby Awards event with a less-than-ideal trim. Apparently, teammate RG Snyman was responsible after what must have been at least a few beers. It was probably worth it though.

“Um, ja you can look how my hair looks thanks to RG Snyman at 5 O’Clock this morning, so thanks for that.”

Etzebeth is the only Springboks star in the World Rugby Dream Team

Regarding individual awards, Ardie Savea pipped Eben Etzebeth to the biggest prize of the night, the World Player of the Year. Fellow All Black Mark Tele’a, born in South Africa, beat Manie Libbok to the Breakthrough Player of the Year gong. Coach Jacques Nienaber was among the World Rugby Coach of the Year nominees, but he was also overlooked as the award went to Ireland’s Andy Farrell. The Boks have won the prize that really matters though.
