The highly-anticipated trial resumed on Monday, 9 October after it was postponed to grant the defence counsel time to go though data downloaded from the cellphones that were confiscated from accused 2 Bongani Ntanzi and accused 5 Fisokuhle Ntuli and to consult with their clients.

Defence counsel for accused 5, Advocate Zandile Mshololo wrapped up her cross-examination of Zungu insisting that her client was not at the Sotho Hostel in Vosloorus the day Meyiwa was shot at the home of his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo.

Zungu told the court that he had no reason to fabricate evidence against the accused insisting that he was telling the truth. This came as all the accused claimed that they do not know Zungu and only saw him for the first time on the witness box in court.
