Rand Water planned shutdown: The list of ALL affected areas

Rand Water has planned a water shutdown that is scheduled from 13 July, 15:00 to 14 July, 05:00.

Rand Water will be conducting planned work at the following sites:

• Vereeniging Water Treatment Plant
• Eikenhof Booster Pumping Station
• Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant
• Zwartkopjes System

According to a Rand Water statement, pumping in the following stations will be reduced: Daleside Booster Station, Zwartkopjes Booster Station and Eikenhof Booster Station.

“Customers in higher lying areas will experience the outage for a longer period as the network gradually recovers.”

Johannesburg Water

RAND WATER Impact and recovery of affected systems – Daleside Booster Station:

Planned work commencing from 19:00 on 11 July will result in reduced supply to the Rand Water Daleside Booster station. Water supply will be reduced by 50% for a period of eight hours. It is estimated that once the work is completed, full recovery of water supply will take an additional 24 hours.
Affected areas include:
Dreiziek, Lakeside, Orange Farm, Stretford, Ennerdale South, Ennerdale Extensions, Finetown, Grasmere, Mid-Ennerdale, Lawley Extensions and Lawley Estate.

Zwartkopjes Booster Station:

Planned work will commence from 11 July at 19:00 to approximately 19:00 on 12 July. Water supply will be reduced by 40% for a period of 24 hours. It is estimated that once the work is completed, the full recovery of water supply will take an additional five days.

Eikenhof Booster Station:

Planned work will start on 11 July at 19:00 and will be completed on 14 July at 05:00. Water supply will be reduced by 24% for a period of 58 hours. It is estimated that once the work is completed, the full recovery of water supply will take up to 10 days.
