Mofokeng recently graduated from The Southern African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC) School of Draughting with a national diploma in structural steelwork detailing.

Mofokeng’s marks for his diploma were all in the high 80s and 90s, and he completed the course with an average of 88%. “My passion for structures and structural analysis through mathematics and computer-aided technology was an important driving factor behind my goals,” said Mofokeng.

He knew that he wanted to attend Primrose High School, and after achieving excellence in his academic performance and leadership at Primrose Hill Primary, Mofokeng was accepted with a scholarship into the High School.

After matric, Mofokeng did some practical work for a company in Bedfordview before studying civil engineering through Damelin, but his acceptance into SAISC was cited as his biggest year academically. “The study of structural steelwork through computer-aided design and exposure to real-life structures was exciting,” he said.

Mofokeng is currently furthering his education and living his dreams in his position as a junior draughtsman at the Medupi Power Station in Limpopo.
