May the odds be in your favour if you’re trying to secure an R8 flight ticket from FlySafair on Wednesday. The domestic airline is hosting another one of its wildly popular sales – but there are plenty of caveats to go with it.

EIGHT terms and conditions for the R8 ticket sale

For those aiming to be successful in their pursuit of a cheap flight ticket, it’s not just a case of selecting the flight you want and handing over next-to-nothing for it. The terms and conditions have been set out this morning.

Directives over where you can fly to, when the tickets can be purchased, and the type of journeys you’re allowed to book for this one-off fee have all made it in to the small print – and you can get an eyeful of them here:

  • The sale will last from 9:00 until 17:00 today, and R8 flight tickets are only available online.
  • However, it’s much more like this campaign will end much earlier – when all 30 000 tickets have been snapped up.
  • The offer is for one-way flights ONLY. No return tickets will be available for R8.
  • Only domestic flights are included in this sale.
  • You’ll only be able to purchase R8 flight tickets for journeys between May-October 2022.
  • The offer excludes group booking of 10 or more people.
  • Only successful payment reserves a ticket. Simply selecting the flight won’t guarantee you get it.
  • Website users will be placed in a ‘waiting room’, which allows people to access the site every five minutes.

FlySafair flight sale: Back to the waiting room…

In previous sales, bargain hunters have complained that they failed to gain access to the FlySafair website, and instead were left hanging in the digital waiting room. The airline has assured customers that ‘no preferential treatment’ will be granted to anyone – and they also reminded customers that the R8 tickets are ‘non-refundable’:

“No preferential access to the site can, or will, be granted to any customer. Normal flight change facilities will be available on our website, but users who change existing flights will not have access to R8 fares.”

“R8 tickets are non-refundable and non-cancellable. Penalties and differences in fares will apply for any changes made to these fares. Only the ‘Lite Fare’ option is available at this low, low price.”
