Limpopo woman arrested after stabbing her boyfriend to death

Limpopo police have arrested a 30-year-old woman who allegedly mudered her 29-year-old boyfriend after a stabbing incident on Saturday.

Heated argument led to fatal stabbing

Police spokesperson in Limpopo, Col Malesela Ledwaba said the incident occurred at Morarela village outside Marble Hall on Saturday evening. 

According to reports, the victim was visiting his partner at her home when the two became engaged in a heated argument which led to the stabbing.

“The suspect (woman) apparently went outside to cool down, but the victim followed her while holding a sharp object. The victim was then stabbed in the upper body following a fight between the two,” said Ledwaba.

Ledwaba added that emergency medical services were summoned but the man was declared dead at the scene after sustaining critical stabbing wounds.

The woman (girlfriend/suspect) was then arrested. There have been several cases of stabbing nature in recent months in Limpopo.

“Police have opened a murder case. The motive for the killing is not yet known but domestic violence cannot be ruled out,” he added. 

The suspect will appear at the Marble Hall magistrate’s court on Tuesday.

Woman stabs husband to death

Still in Limpopo, a 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of her 25-year-old husband in Naboomspruit in Limpopo. 

Ledwaba said the woman was arrested after the stabbing incident on a farm outside Mookgophong on Monday at about 5am.

She allegedly used a sharp object in stabbing her husband in the upper body.  

“The victim was taken to hospital where he was certified dead on arrival. The suspect was arrested,” he said.
