Learner arrested for murder following a brawl at Limpopo school
A 20-year-old Limpopo learner was arrested after a fellow learner succumbed to injuries sustained during a fight.

A 20-year-old male learner has been arrested concerning the murder of a fellow learner in Sandsloot village, Mahwelereng in Limpopo.
Wallen Tatesi Nthuse Ngoepe, 20, was involved in a fight with the suspect and sustained injuries. He succumbed on Sunday, 20 August.
LEARNER ARRESTED FOR MURDER
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in Limpopo, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the arrest of the suspect follows an in-depth investigation by the police in Mahwelereng regarding the untimely death of the 20-year-old learner at his homestead on Sunday.
Ledwaba said the tragic incident follows a chain of events that unfolded on Friday, 18 August, at a local school.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a fight broke out between two learners, resulting in one of them sustaining injuries.
“The victim was hospitalised and was released only to experience complications upon returning home. Sadly, he succumbed to the injuries,” he explained.
The learner is expected to appear on a charge of murder in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 23 August.

VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR CONDEMNED
Police said the case has since been changed to murder leading to the subsequent arrest of the suspect, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still subject to investigations.
Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned some learners’ violent behaviour, especially on school premises, and applauded the investigation team for the excellent work of uncovering the truth and arresting the perpetrator.
