Man to face psych evaluation for alleged murder of gf and raping daughters

A 37-year-old KZN man accused of murdering his partner and raping his daughters is expected to undergo psychiatric evaluation.

A man accused of killing his girlfriend and raping his two daughters appeared before the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 5 August.

NPA says the incident occurred in May

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Natasha Kara revealed that the 37-year-old KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) man allegedly committed the crimes in KwaNyuswa in May this year.

The man is expected to undergo psychiatric evaluation

The accused cannot be identified in order to protect the identity of the victims he raped. Kara explained that the man murdered his girlfriend before hiding her body in the bushes behind their house. 

“He then allegedly raped his 15-year-old biological daughter and his 18-year-old stepdaughter,”

said Kara.

He is facing a charge of murder, two counts of rape, sexual assault and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. IOL reports that the matter has been adjourned to 12 August for the accused to undergo psychological assessments by a district surgeon.

Limpopo man arrested for raping biological daughter, 7, and assaulting wife

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that a horrific incident shocked the Majeje village of Limpopo. This was after a 27-year-old man was reportedly arrested for allegedly raping his biological daughter. The girl is just seven years old.

Spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo stated that the incident reportedly occurred at the family home on Saturday, 11 June.

Mojapelo explained that after the mother realised that her husband had not been in bed with her at around midnight, she went to look for him. She found him raping their seven-year-old daughter and immediately confronted him. Read the full story here.

Two minors raped on the way back from school, investigations ongoing

Also in Limpopo, it was previously reported that a manhunt has been launched for two men who are accused of raping two girls aged eight and nine at Gogobole village. The SAPS’ Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) in Tshilwavhusiku, Limpopo.

Spokesperson for the South African Police Service in Limpopo Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said the two girls fell victim to the crime on Thursday, 9 June at around 16:00. The girls were reportedly walking home from school.

Mojapelo said the men were wearing blue work suits and dragged the girls into a nearby bush. The children informed the elders about the rape when they arrived home. Read the full story here.
